A cigar-shaped UFO appears to have returned to the skies of the US, with an amateur astronomer capturing an astonishing blue object hurtling overhead in Nebraska.
The short footage, taken in Omaha, starts with nothing but an ordinary night sky with stars.
But suddenly, a blue cigar-like object soars past the camera. It appears for only a few seconds before vanishing out of shot.
YouTube user MrMBB333 was sent the footage by a follower and shared it to his channel today.
The cameraperson explained to him: “While recording with my telescope I caught an object moving from the Southern sky to Northern sky in the western part of Omaha, Nebraska.
“I’m pretty familiar with most objects in the sky.
“This just seems strange to me. Check it out. What do you think?”
MrMBB333 speculated whether it was simply a meteor but was unable to reach a conclusion.
“I don’t know what would cause the blue appearance, I’ve seen blue fireballs inside the atmosphere but this is more than likely outside the atmosphere,” he said.
“It’s a very mysterious streak of light.
“It was just moving way too quickly and it was amazing that it even ended up in front of the telescope.”
Previous objects flashing across cameras are often written off as simply bugs or reflections on camera lenses.
It may also be that the cigar-shaped complexion was caused simply by the speed and frame rate of the camera.
But, after more than 9,000 people saw the video, many conspiracy theorists chimed in with their own views.
“That’s no meteorite,” one commented. “I’ve witnessed meteors coming in and whatever that is, it’s not of nature.”
“That’s one of those huge ‘rods’,” another speculated while a third agreed, adding: “There are what they call rods. Instead of the usual round ufo’s we’re used to, those are shaped like cigars.”
Cigar-shaped UFOs have supposedly been seen numerous times in the US over the past several months.
Back in January, a strange object was seen above the Los Angeles mountains.
That followed the “craft” being seen across eight US states in 2019.
