Injured star Maddison watches Leicester’s final game of the season from the stands
Maddison, 23, missed the end of the Foxes Premier League season, in which they surrendered a Champions League place on the final day, to undergo surgery on a persistent tendon issue.
He watched from the bench as Leicester lost 2-0 to Manchester United on the final day of the season, consigning them to the Europa League next season.
Maddison scored nine goals and contributed three assists during Leicester’s season but only played three matches post-restart.
His good form at the start of the season earned Maddison a first England call-up and he made his debut in the Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro in November.
