Tiger Woods revealed that his traditional Masters Champions Dinner with his family ended in a food fight.

With the Masters postponed this year due to the coronavirus crisis, the reigning Masters champion held his own version of the traditional meal under quarantine with his family in his South Florida home on Tuesday night.

And while this year’s event was a little different regarding the guests at the annual dinner, Woods still revealed that he had an enjoyable time regardless.

He said in an interview with GOLF TV: ‘I had exactly the same. We had steak and chicken pieces, sushi and sashimi. We had cupcakes and milkshakes for dessert. So it was exactly what I was going to serve.

‘We had a lot of fun and eventually it got a little bit interesting at the end, a little ugly, where icing was flowing across people’s hair and face, and so we had a little bit of fun at the end.’

The Masters Champions Dinner is held every Tuesday night before the competition takes place and is attended by the golfing elite to celebrate one of the most highly-anticipated tournaments in sport.

Woods was seen wearing the Masters winners jacket that he received last year, and the American revealed he took the jacket off before the food fight began.

He added: ‘Well I did take the jacket off. This jacket cannot get any cupcake on it. So, I take the jacket off… OK GO!’

The postponement of the Masters is a huge disappointment for fans of golf across the globe, but Woods recognised the bigger picture amidst the global pandemic.

The defending Masters champion is also hopeful about the tournament being staged later in the year – where he can defend his crown properly.

Woods said: ‘This is not the way that I would’ve wanted to keep the jacket for a longer period of time. I wanted to get out there and compete for it and earn it again, like I did in ’02.

‘But it’s not a normal circumstance, it’s not a normal world. It’s a very fluid environment and it’s very different for all of us.

‘Fortunately, we potentially could have a Masters in November and play it then. I guess I’ll be defending then and hopefully that all comes about.’
