‘I’d tell him to stay put and let’s play together forever’: Emre Can sees ‘no reason’ why Dortmund team-mate Jadon Sancho should leave for Manchester United and urges him to commit to the Bundesliga side
- Emre Can believes Jadon Sancho joining Man United would be the wrong move
- He urged him to stay at Dortmund to continue his development as a top player
- The former Liverpool star said Sancho was vital to the Bundesliga side
His team-mate Emre Can said he doesn’t believe the Red Devils should be seen as a more attractive proposition than the German giants and feels the English star can achieve all his goals at the club.
Sancho is rumoured to be of huge interest to United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is lacking an out-and-out right winger – with the former Man City player seemingly fitting the bill.
Jadon Sancho should forget about moving to Manchester United, says team-mate Emre Can
Former Liverpool star Can only joined the Bundesliga outfit in January but he can already see the influence that Sancho has on the team – who are going neck and neck for the league title with leaders Bayern Munich.
And Can has now pleaded with Sancho to reject a move to the Premier League, telling him to commit his future to Signal Iduna Park.
‘I see no reason to put Manchester United above Borussia Dortmund,’ the German international told Sport Bild.
‘Not from a sporting side and not because of the appeal. I’d tell him to stay put and let’s play together forever.’

The 20-year-old has continued his electrifying form over the past couple of seasons and has scored 17 goals for Dortmund this season – laying on another 17 assists for his team-mates.
Can said his consistency on the pitch was crucial to the team and that he offers a unique talent.
‘Jadon has class that not a lot of players possess. I noticed that fairly quickly. He’s enormously important for us.’
Sancho returned to Bundesliga action on Saturday after coming off the bench late on in Dortmund’s 4-0 win over Schalke.
Sancho has returned to Bundesliga action as speculation linking him with a move continues
Speculation about his possible move to Old Trafford refuses to die down – with former United star Rio Ferdinand fanning the flames about how he might fit into the team. He admitted the propsect of the England international was ‘mouthwatering’ as he could form a devastating front six.
He told FIVE’s YouTube channel: ‘Rashford up front, Martial on the left, James or Sancho if they buy him on the right.
‘You can’t tell me other midfielders aren’t going to be thinking, “if these lot are on fire today we’re going to have to be on a game, it’s going to be a hard day work for us”.
‘There’s ability there, it’s ridiculous. If they can find that cohesion, the team set-up for them to flourish, it’s mouthwatering what could happen.’
